Why are Cotswolds Rivers Trust supporting this challenge?

We are in the middle of a biodiversity crisis and climate emergency. We are witnessing loss of habitat, collapse of ecosystems and systematic pollution of our rivers. We are fighting for a future where our children and grandchildren can enjoy healthy and vibrant rivers teaming with aquatic life. There is a growing awareness of the level of pollution and illegal discharge of sewage effluent into our rivers, identified as the main cause of a collapse in river water quality. This initiative helps to raise that awareness further and to make river health a priority for government.
