We are thrilled to announce that thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, the Cotswolds Rivers Trust has raised more than £5,000 during this year’s Big Give Green Match Fund week.

This success is not just a milestone for us, it’s a powerful reminder of the strength and passion within our community. Every single donation made during the campaign was doubled by a Big Give donor, meaning your support had twice the impact. Whether you gave £5 or £500, your contribution will go a long way in helping us protect and restore our precious rivers and wetlands.

We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated and helped share the word. Your support empowers us to continue the vital work of caring for our rivers and connecting people to nature.

Thanks to your donations, we will be able to continue to grow our network of local community groups and continue to train up citizen scientists. These groups play a key role in looking after their local watercourses, collecting valuable data, and driving positive change on the ground. Just this week we have been helping the Windrush Action Group with collecting data for Earthwatch’s Great Water Blitz and taking E-Coli samples across the catchment.

Fresh Water Watch water quality testing

From kickstarting new river monitoring projects to providing training, equipment, and support for volunteers, this funding will allow us to build capacity where it is needed most. It will also free up resources to help us connect communities who care deeply about their local rivers, so they can share knowledge, learn new skills, and work together to have a greater impact.

Whether it is monitoring water quality, mapping wildlife, restoring habitats, or raising awareness about pollution, citizen science and grassroots action are at the heart of a healthy future for our rivers, this successful crowdfunding exercise means we can now do even more.

We are always looking to connect with people who care about rivers. If you are part of a local group, have an idea for a project, or simply want to get involved, we would love to hear from you. Whether you are just starting out or already active in your community, we will offer support and advice to help turn ideas into action.

Please do not hesitate to get in touch. Together, we can continue building a vibrant network of river guardians across the Cotswolds. Once again, thank you for standing with us and supporting our work. Here is to healthier rivers and stronger communities.
