Representatives from more than a dozen local community groups met recently to hear from partners within the Windrush catchment about ongoing projects and discuss ways of furthering their own water related objectives.

The session covered numerous examples and ways that community groups can grow and reach their objectives. With discussions including; project creation, funding opportunities and where to find technical expertise.

Presentations were given by the Windrush Against Sewage Pollution, Oxfordshire Communities Action Group (CAG), the Environment Agency and the Cotswolds Rivers Trust.

The meeting was coordinated to push forward the Windrush Catchment Partnership’s engagement with the local community, noting that through collaborating we are greater than the sum of our parts.

The impressive turn out highlights the drive and desire, within the community, for direct action.
